The staining of your shingles is caused by airborne spores from black algae, fungus and mold. A stained shingle roof does NOT necessarily need to be replaced. Unfortunately over 60% of new shingle roofs are due to staining, not the deterioration of the shingles.

The price for cleaning your shingle roof is between $0.25 to $0.40 per square foot. The price also depends on the height,  pitch of your roof and degree of staining. Generally a roof of 1,500 square feet can be cleaned for less than $450. Compare our price to a cost of $2000 - $3,000 to replace the shingles.
